Step 1. The discovery phase

If you have read any of the GoReport customer stories, or our articles on digital transformation, you will have learnt that many businesses have adopted GoReport to realise a wide range of efficiency, consistency and quality benefits.

However, you might be wondering how to start your own business on a path to digital adoption. The good news is that, as you are reading this, you have already made a significant start on the journey.

Obviously, there must be some form of prompt or interest that has caused you to begin looking more closely at the GoReport solution, but it is also often the case that you will not know exactly what or how it might be of benefit to you. The initial discovery phase should be considered as an evolving learning experience where the benefits of GoReport are explained in more detail for your particular business context and where you can take the time to reflect and consider these benefits and how you want to take your business forward.

Naturally, we provide a range of resources (such as this Knowledge Base) and customer case studies so that you can discover and learn at your leisure. However, there is no faster or more educational road to discovery than arranging a short session with one of the GoReport team! There is nothing we enjoy more than understanding your needs, discussing your challenges, sharing our experience and directing you to the right resources to help you make an informed decision.

In all areas of life, there is often a natural reticence to avoid a “salesperson” until you are absolutely ready to purchase a product. No-one likes feeling that they are losing control or moving at a pace they are not comfortable with. When considering investing in software, however, it is important to engage with knowledgeable resources that can listen to your particular circumstances and have experience to share to ensure your discovery is as effective as possible.

We are fortunate at GoReport that many new clients arrive with us having used our software with a previous employer or who have been given a favourable referral of our solution. However, we always recommend that anyone interested in a solution should discuss their requirements with the provider directly to ensure the best possible guidance.

At GoReport, we endeavour to take you through a full understanding of our solution and its benefits within 1 hour and to schedule this at a time and date of your convenience. For a residential surveyor, particularly those intending to use the RICS Home Survey Standards or similar, this is often more than enough time to make an informed decision to progress. For the commercial surveyor, or those requiring bespoke outputs, we will often request an example of current work in advance to ensure we tailor the session specifically to your needs.

Naturally, for larger organisations, there are often more stakeholders, departments, integrations with other systems etc to be considered which require additional meetings and time but the initial understanding of the solution and the benefits can still be achieved very quickly.
