Adding a Photo
There are multiple ways to add photos in Web Portal 2.0. You can either use a pop-up window, where you can upload your photos using the Modal method (the default method) or use the Drag-and-Drop method, which allows you to upload photos and continue to work on your reports simultaneously.
- To choose a photo upload method select the icon as shown below, select Photo Upload Method and choose which method of photo uploads you would like to view on the report editor.
Drag and Drop Photo Uploads
- If you've chosen Drag and Drop as your photo upload method, a photo "drop zone" will appear beneath each field that supports photo uploads. Simply drag your photos from your computer into the drop zone, or click anywhere in the drop zone to browse your files. When you drag the photos to the drop zone area a grey spotlight will appear, and you can drop your photos into the field.
Tip: You can upload up as many photos as you like with each photo having a maximum size of 50MB.
- While the photos are uploading you can continue editing your report.
Note: If you see the red error message below it means the photos were not added to the report. The file may be the wrong type, or corrupt.
Modal Photo Uploads
If you've chosen Modal as your photo upload method, an image icon will appear beneath each field that supports photo uploads.- Select the image icon to Add a Photograph (as shown below).
- Drag and drop or browse your files to select a photograph.
- Select the photo(s) from your files and click Open.
Tip: You can upload up as many photos as you like with each photo having a maximum size of 50MB. 'Multi-select' photos by holding the CTRL key on your keyboard and clicking on each photo.
Note: Multiple photos can take longer to upload depending on the file size.
- When the photos have finished uploading, select Close.
- The photos have been added to the report.
Note: If you see the red error message below it means the photos were not added to the report. The file may be the wrong type, or corrupt.
- Select a photo.
- Enter a caption in the box highlighted below and select Close.
- A caption has been added to the photo. Hover over the photo to view the caption.
Editing a Photo
- Select an image to view the options.
- Select Edit.

- In the photo editor you can crop, annotate, redact, rotate, and resize the photo.
Cropping Tool
- You have the ability to rotate, flip and change the scale of the image.
- To revert or reapply edits in the photo, use the undo and redo buttons.
Annotate Tool:
- Using the annotate tool you can draw lines, add shapes, and text.
- Use the zoom icons to adjust the view.
Resize Tool:
- Edit the numbers at the bottom of the screen to change the size of the image and select the lock to keep the image proportion to the size you have selected.
Redact:
- Using the redact tool you can blur/ hide information from an image.
Filter Tool:
- Choose filters to apply them to a photo.
Finetune Tool:
- Adjust the colour settings such as brightness, contrast and exposure.
Frame Tool:
- Easily add a frame to an image by choosing one from the selection below.
- Select Revert to undo the changes made since opening the photo editor.
- Select Close to close the editor without saving the changes made.
- Select Done to save the changes and close the photo editor.
- Select Revert to original to restore the original photo.
- Select Confirm.
Caution: Reverting back to the original image cannot be undone.
Reordering Photos (Drag and Drop)
- Drag and drop the photo to reorder photos in the same field.
You can also use drag and drop to move photos between the Body and Notes of the same field.
- Using drag and drop, change the location of the photo from the body to the notes.
Tip: The photos in the notes section will NOT appear in the published report unless specified when publishing.
Changing location of a photo
- Select the photo you want to move.
- Select the arrow icon.
- A list of report fields will appear.
Hovering over a field reveals one or two arrows: a blue arrow for the body field and a yellow arrow for the notes field.
Note: In some fields, photos can only be added to the notes field, and therefore only a yellow arrow will appear.
- Select an arrow to move the photo. In the example below, we are moving the photo to the body of D4 Main Walls.
- The photo has been moved.
- You have the ability to create a copy of the photo.
- Select the photo you want to copy (Clone). Next select the clone icon.
- Select Confirm.
- The photo has been cloned and added to the same field in the report.
Deleting a Photo
- To delete a photo, select the photo and select the Delete icon.
- Select Confirm.
Warning: Deleted photos cannot be retrieved.
- The photo has been deleted.
